Mission and model
Not knowing your options is itself a form of crisis.
The Zero Collective Ottawa is a free peer navigation and accompaniment service connecting Ottawa residents who feel stuck, overwhelmed or out of options with community resources across 15 categories and 80+ services.
The model is hands-on accompaniment. Helping with forms. Making calls together. Attending appointments. Not referral alone.
Rooted in lived experience navigating the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, credit rebuilding, job loss and being refused service. This is an intentional and explicit part of the public founder identity.
Potential earned revenue comes from speaking, training and consulting. Direct navigation for people in need never has a price attached.
Formalize as a social enterprise or nonprofit. Registered charity status with the CRA unlocks Google Ad Grants, which is a substantial free monthly ad spend with no match requirement.
